Crazy day

What a day!

Planned to finally take a day off today since I can't remember when my last one was.

Took my car to the body shop to get it repaired after someone accidentally backed into my car.  Got a rental to drive until mine is fixed tomorrow.

Started laundry which is piling up because I haven't been home to do it, stubbed my toe enough to make it bleed.

My A/C stopped working at one end of my house, it's now 92 and climbing inside my house.

Client called and wanted to see a house for the second time.  Couldn't get my shoe on because of my toe so had to go in my Croc's.  (Sorry Mel!  A woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do!).

Drove my leased car to the house, wrote an offer. The couple had 4 children, 3 boys and a cute little girl.  Very nice family!  They were so hot and so ready to go swimming.

Went to a house we just listed to put a lock box on the front door and then drove up to my office to scan and email an offer.

Are we having fun yet???

Can we say....T I R E D!

I stepped up into my Yukon to finally go home and thought I was going to have to lift my leg to get into the car.  We have shown so many homes this week that I have lost track and it's not over yet.

I'm not sure just what is happening, but it's like a feeding frenzy out there with people wanting to buy homes.  Dealing with a lot of out of town buyers lately.  We looked at about 10 homes today in Bella Vista with a very nice family from Illinois.  They arrived in NWA around 3:45 a.m. after many miles of construction with 3 very tired children.  We were supposed to meet at 8:30 a.m. outside their hotel this morning.  When I got up this morning, there was a voice mail from him asking if I could just give them a few hours sleep, they would be good to go by 10 a.m.

This changed our plans, now Val and I decided to eat a big breakfast since it looked like we would be on the go for rest of the day.  We stopped at Mama Z's and boy, was it good.  They make killer pancakes with almost 1/2 cup of melted butter to pour over your pancakes.  Yum!!!

Well, since we had all this extra time, we decided to stop by and pick up Valerie's car in Springtown at the shop.  We came in from Siloam Springs and had noticed that from 412 we could have come up Fairmont and it would have saved several miles.  While we were laughing about how silly we were for not coming up Fairmont while driving to Springtown I began to wonder where this shop was, but didn't say anything because I had never been there.  Well, it didn't take very long to drive through Springtown and we were on the other side in a blink.  I said, "Val, where is this shop?"  She said, "Well, if it's not up here around this next corner, I think we have passed it."  Around the next corner there was nothing....so I turned around and went back towards town.  Then she said, "Well, you know I've never come from this directions before.  We must have missed it."

"No problem", I said as we drove back again to Springtown.  So, here we go back through Springtown.  Valerie said that it was on the right side of the street, so we are now both looking at the right side.  All of a sudden, there it was....right across the street from Fairmont Rd!  We had been so busy laughing about not taking the short cut up Fairmont that we didn't even look to the left and completely missed it!  Good thing we weren't in a hurry!

Ahhhh....the not so secret life of a Realtor!

Hot days of summer......

Seems like I drag myself up in the morning with the anticipation of facing another hot and humid day.  I know I'm going to appreciate them one day, but today it's not happening.

You need to take breaks from the heat as often as you can.  Drink lots of water and Gatorade.  Keep in mind the very young and elderly, check on them often.

Micky, Valerie and I all got over heated today although I think Micky and Val were hit much harder than I was. Be careful with those you are showing homes to also.  Bring an ice chest with bottled water!

The stork has finally arrived at our office!

We always have a sales meeting on Tuesdays and today was no exception. Mel is always a fount of information and Jana has a spread for us even when she doesn't cook.

Our entire office has been on "baby watch" for the last month. We have had 2 babies born to agents, a rough and tumble boy and a girlie girl! Our office is full of diaper cakes, onesies, rattles and pacifiers. Both babies were actually miracle babies and we are so thankful that they both are perfect little bundles. Congratulations to both families!

What a week it has been.....

About Tuesday, I could tell the was going to be a "special" week and by Thursday, I knew I was going to have to dig deep inside to make it to Friday.

We have been swamped with phone calls and emails from people wanting to look at homes and wanting to list their homes. My team has been working from 8 a.m. until sometimes 8 or 9 p.m. and in this heat, that isn't easy to do. It just sucks the life right out of you. You get into these homes that have no electricity so, of course, there is no air conditioning either. This evening we were in such a house and actually had to step outside because it was so much cooler.

Met with a very nice young man who just got back from Iraq that is currently serving his country. I was so proud to serve him as his agent although I can not match his service to our country.
